ROUNDTABLE SUPPORTS BIOSCIENCE INITIATIVES
The Oklahoma Bioscience Association is a new, not-for-profit, statewide membership organization created to advance the growth of Oklahoma's bioscience cluster. The Oklahoma Business Roundtable is supporting start-up of this important organization.
On June 17-20, a 90 person delegation representing the Bio Association, research professionals, Oklahoma City and the Department of Commerce personnel, attended Bio 2008 in San Diego. The Oklahoma group manned a large exhibit booth throughout the conference and sponsored a reception for 195 invited guests, hosted by Lt. Governor Jari Askins. A total of 20,000 global bio-science related professionals attended the conference.
The Roundtable assisted seven Oklahoma company researchers with their travel expenses to attend this important Bio conference. The purpose was to allow these individuals to showcase their work and become more familiar with the national and international aspects of the Bioscience industry.
